Altoona, PA (April 17, 2020) – Today, Sheetz announced it will be following the orders issued by both Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania and Governor Larry Hogan of Maryland requiring all customers in its store locations to wear a face mask.

The Maryland order took effect on Saturday, April 18, at 7 a.m. and the Pennsylvania order took effect on Sunday, April 19, at 8 p.m. Sheetz employees will also be required to wear masks.

The health and well-being of Sheetz’s team members, customers and the communities it serves remains a top priority amid the spread of COVID-19. In response to COVID-19, Sheetz has instituted several changes including suspending self-serve coffee, self-serve fountain beverages, fresh brewed tea, frozen drinks and F’Real milkshakes as well as self-serve bakery items. Sheetz is also encouraging social distancing and has implemented enhanced routine daily cleaning procedures with a focus on high touch surface areas such as gas pumps, order points, counter tops, checkout lines and door handles as well as reinforcing and re-training all employees on proper hand washing and hygiene.
