Introduction and Scope

Sheetz, Inc. and our affiliated companies and brands (collectively, “Sheetz” “we,” “us,” or “our”) are a regional chain of 24/7 convenience stores and gas stations, providing food andbeverages in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, and Ohio (collectively, the “Stores”). 

This Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, share, and protect Personal Information (defined below) in different contexts using ethical and responsible practices that respect your privacy, as required by law.  This Privacy Notice applies to Personal Information collected on our Sites, mobile applications, or cloud-based services and communication platforms with a link to this Privacy Notice (collectively, the “Site”).  It covers how Sheetz collects, uses, shares, and otherwise processes Personal Information as of the date that this Privacy Notice is posted.  It does not apply to any other information collected by us through any other means, including separate business or marketing activities.  “Personal Information” means information that identifies or can identify you personally, including any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or its equivalent.

Information We Collect

For public areas of our Site, we generally collect and process only Personal Information you voluntarily provide to us.  For some secure areas of our Site, however, Sheetz may require you to provide Personal Information, including your login credentials.  Sheetz may also collect your Personal Information to perform services on our Site, enhance the services offered to you, maintain and improve the Site, secure our Site, comply with legal obligations, and inform you about other services and products that may be available through Sheetz, our affiliated companies, and our marketing partners.  If you choose not to provide us with the Personal Information that is legitimately required, Sheetz may be unable to provide you with the information or services you have requested.  Public areas of our Sites ask for Personal Information from you when you engage in certain activities.  Personal Information may include any or all of the following:

Even if you do not send us any Personal Information, Sheetz may collect certain non-personal information about how you use our Site. This non-personal information cannot reasonably identify you and is used for statistical purposes.

Information Collected Through Technology

Sheetz may also obtain information in other ways through technology. Some of this information may be linked to you personally. Sheetz processes this information to help our Sites function correctly and better understand the needs of our customers. 

Device Information

Depending on the permissions you have granted and other factors, Sheetzmay receive information about your location and your mobile device, including a unique identifier for your device. Examples of the device information Sheetz collects include: 

Most mobile devices allow you to turn off location services, and Sheetz encourages you to contact your device manufacturer for detailed instructions on how to do that.  If you choose not to provide us with location services, however, Sheetz may be unable to provide you with certain features or services you have requested.

How We Use and Share the Information We Collect

Whatever the purpose may be – whether we share with service providers, consultants, government authorities, or other external entities – we only process and share your Personal Information to the extent reasonably necessary to fulfill your requests and meet our legitimate business and legal objectives.  We do not share your Personal Information with unaffiliated third parties solely for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not sell your Personal Information.  When we disclose Personal Information to external entities to perform support services for us, we establish by contract that they may access your Personal Information only for the purposes of performing those support services. We may also use what we know about you to potentially offer you other products and services in the future.  We may combine your online information with information collected from offline or online sources, or information we already have. We may also use and disclose certain Personal Information to our affiliated companies and others for any purpose allowed by law.

Call Recording 

We will use your information to provide certain services and to comply with regulatory or legal requirements imposed on us in each jurisdiction in which we operate.  We may monitor or record any communications with one of our employees, including telephone calls.  We may use these recordings to check instructions for us, to assess and improve our services, and for training and quality purposes.  The information may also be shared with partner companies that provide marketing services to us at our request and under our direction.  We may need to process your data for additional purposes not listed, but necessary to give effect to the business relationship.

Rewards and Loyalty Data 

If you participate in our rewards program (“My Sheetz Rewards”), we collect info such as your account number, date of birth, gender, age, e-mail, phone, purchase history, and benefits received.  This helps us manage your rewards and send tailored offers.

Purchase and Transaction Data 

We gather details about your transactions—both online and in-store—including contact info, items purchased, amounts, delivery instructions, payment methods, and communication about your orders.  This data helps us:

Location Data

Our mobile apps may access your device’s GPS or other location services to show nearby stores, directions, or local offers.  You can disable location sharing in your device settings, but some app features may be limited.  We use this info to provide relevant services based on your location.

In case of accidents or safety incidents in our Stores, we may collect relevant details to assist emergency response, insurance claims, or safety improvements.  This information may be shared with law enforcement or emergency services as required.

Other Disclosures

We may disclose Personal Information as permitted or required by law, when we believe in good faith it is necessary for safety purposes, required for legal reporting, to protect our legal rights or enforce our Site’s terms and conditions or any applicable rules, or to protect the rights of others.  We may also disclose Personal Information to our auditors, legal advisors, or to respond to a subpoena.  Any access to your Personal Information is restricted to those individuals who have a need to receive or access this data in order to fulfill their job responsibilities.  We may also aggregate information that we gather about you (e.g., traffic patterns) and provide these statistics to others in aggregate form.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by a law that applies to us.

Minors

This Site is intended for use by adults.  This Site is not intended or directed at individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any Personal Information from minors or knowingly track the use of our Site by children. If you believe we have impermissibly collected Personal Information from someone under the age of 13, please contact us directly.

Sheetz implements a variety of technical, physical, and administrative security measures to secure the confidentiality of your Personal Information and to protect it from loss, misuse, alteration, and destruction.  Those measures include a variety of practices to keep Personal Information safe and prevent unauthorized access to, or use, or disclosure of it.  Electronic data and databases are stored on secure computer systems with control over access to information using both physical and electronic means.  And while we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our services.

Notice of Financial Incentives for My Sheetz Rewardz

This notice explains the financial incentives associated with the My Sheetz Rewardz Program (the “Program”).  We are providing this notice because applicable law may require us to inform you about the Program and obtain your opt-in consent before enrolling you.  We reserve the right to add or modify financial incentives associated with the Program and to terminate the Program at any time at our sole discretion.

Summary of the Incentives

By participating in the Program, you can earn points on qualifying purchases at Sheetz locations.  These points can be redeemed for rewards such as discounts on future purchases, free items, or exclusive offers.  Members may also receive special rewards for milestones, birthdays, or participation in promotional activities.  Additionally, members may gain access to personalized offers, tailored content, and early notifications about new products and promotions.

How to Participate in the Program?

Value of Consumer Data

The data collected through the Program is used to enhance customer experience and is considered valuable for personalized marketing and service improvements.  The financial incentives offered are reasonably related to the value of the consumer’s data, as determined by the costs associated with data collection and management.

Withdrawal from the Program

You may opt out of the Program at any time.  Please note that doing so will result in the loss of accumulated points, unredeemed rewards, and access to exclusive offers or features.  To withdraw, you can disable your account via the Sheetz app or website or contact Sheetz Customer Service.  If you have any remaining rewards or points, please contact Customer Service to resolve your account status.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

We may amend this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make any material change in how we collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process Personal Information, we will prominently post an updated Privacy Notice on our Site. Any changes to this Privacy Notice will be effective immediately upon posting of the updated Privacy Notice or as otherwise required by applicable law.
